Peter Lutz studied at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich in Switzerland graduating with a PhD in law from the University of Zurich in 1988. His doctoral thesis was an in-depth analysis of the acquisition of registered shares and their transfer restrictions. After working for the courts in Zurich, he was admitted to the Bar in 1988.

Peter obtained his professional experience as an associate of a major law firm in Zurich, before joining Lutz Rechtsanwälte and subsequently becoming a partner in 1992. At this time he complemented his international education by completing an LL.M. degree in EC Law and International Trade Law at the University of London.

Peter is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association and member of various legal profession societies. He is also President of the LL.M. society of the University of London, an alumni organisation of former LL.M. students with members all over the world. His main areas of practice and expertise include corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, domestic and EC competition and antitrust law, product liability law, insolvency and bankruptcy law, anti money laundering schemes as well as commercial litigation and arbitration. He has also published various legal articles in these areas of specialisation.
