Christopher Tillman

Christopher Tillman graduated with a law degree from the University of Zurich in 1991. He was admitted to the Bar in 1996. Christopher completed his international studies at the University of Exeter in England where he obtained an LL.M. degree in European Legal Studies in 1999. He gained further international professional experience by working for the European Commission in Brussels. Thanks to his long practical experience, Christopher was admitted in 2007 as Certified Specialist SBA Construction and Real Estate Law.

Having served at the District Court in Zurich and at the Court for Landlord and Tenant Law in Zurich, Christopher thereafter worked at the Commercial Registry Office of the Canton of Zurich dealing with company law issues. Thereafter, he was working for some years in the legal division of the Department of Construction and Public Works of the Canton Aargau, where he was involved in appeal procedures in construction, planning, environmental and public procurement law matters. Before joining Legis Rechtsanwälte in 2004 he had been for some years associate in two commercial law firms in Zurich and Baden. Since the beginning of 2009, Christopher has become a partner of Legis Rechtsanwälte.

Christopher is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association, of the Chamber of Independent Advisors in Real Estate matters (KUB), of the Swiss Real Estate Association (SVIT), of the Real Estate and Construction Law Group of the Zurich Bar Association (ZAV), of the Swiss Association for Aviation and Space Law (SVLR), of the Swiss Association for Environmental Law (VUR) and of the Zurich Lawyers Association. Christopher teaches at the Swiss Real Estate Association (SVIT) in Zurich on the diploma courses for Real Estate Development and for Real Estate Trustees.

The main areas of practice and expertise of Christopher include advising and litigation in the areas of commerce, industry and construction. This includes in particular public and private construction and real estate law (including contracts for construction and sale of real estate, syndication law, environmental and expropriation law, condominium ownership law, SIA-Rules, landlord and tenant law and the Lex Koller). Christopher advises also on syndication law, project planning and arbitration in construction and real estate matters. Christopher has further practice and expertise in administrative and regulatory proceedings, in particular in aviation and public procurement law.
